Made exclusively with ‘amanatsu’ (a grapefruit-like citrus developed in Japan), ‘iyokan’ (a mandarin-like citrus developed in Japan), and cane sugar, the Amanatsu and Iyokan jam by ‘Muchacha-en’ brings a refreshing touch to your meals or breakfasts.
Both varieties of citrus are cultivated in Ehime Prefecture, known for its citrus production. In ‘Muchacha-en’ they slowly cook the juice of iyokan, which has an elegant aroma and a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, along with the peel and pulp of amanatsu, which brings a refreshing acidity and a touch of bitterness, all combined with cane sugar. They use a reduced amount of sugar compared to regular jam.
By cooking for an extended time, the natural sweetness of the fruits can be enhanced. No additives are used to thicken, so the jam’s consistency comes naturally from the pectin contained in amanatsu and iyokan. The light flavor of this marmalade effectively highlights the beautiful taste of amanatsu and iyokan.
It can be enjoyed like any other fruit jam or preserve, served with bread, yogurt, or ice cream. Additionally, it can be incorporated into cooking, such as slow-cooking meats or making cakes.
